Sensoria "A stunning debut"
Sensoria got off to a cracking start in its first year - with excellent audiences and acclaim.
All of the comments here are by people who experienced the festival. We are proud that Sheffield's great and good from the music industry came out and showed their support - Jarvis introduced his artschool films, a slightly nervous Richard Hawley commenced the festival's proceedings at the opening night, Reverend and the Makers premiered their new video, seminal musician Richard H. Kirk gave an AV performance, The Long Blondes presented an exhibition of cover artwork and Graham Oliver from Saxon came to our Metal Talk. Even the ROXY sign put in an appearance at the Wall of Sound exhibition.
A huge thank you to all of those who came along and supprted the festival. Here's to 2009.

Julien Temple interview
We are delighted to welcome Julien as a special guest for this interview where, illustrated with clips from his movies, he will discuss his life and career with festival advisor Adrian Wootton, CEO of Film London.

Sensoria - I Monster Filmmakers Competition
As a part of this year’s Sensoria festival, South Yorkshire Film Makers Network (SYFN) will be giving the opportunity for filmmakers to produce a music video for one of Sheffield's top music acts 'I Monster', and have a chance to win £500.
During this year's Sensoria festival five filmmaking teams will compete for the chance to make a music video for I Monster by creating a video for the band's brand new single 'Sucker for Your Sound' to be released later this year.
Filmmakers will have exactly one week to make the video: from 12th-18th April.
Selected filmmakers will be invited to the Showroom on the 12th April at 2pm, where they will be introduced to the band in an individual private session. Members of I Monster will present the new single, display some artwork for the album, and then hold a Question and Answer session with the filmmakers to help them better understand what the band are looking for.
All five music videos will then be screened at the Showroom 5 cinema at the end of the Sensoria festival, on 18th April at 5.30pm. The members of the band and one impartial judge will choose the winning team.
The winner will get cash, a chance to have their video screened on the top music video channels and the band’s website, and the possibility of further collaboration with the band on future projects.

Sensoria Beer
Sensoria announces festival beer courtesy of Thornbridge brewery.
Sensoria is also pleased to announce another first – a Sensoria beer will be hitting Sheffield bars thanks to Thornbridge brewery.
Festival Director, Jo Wingate commented:
"I contacted Thornbridge Brewery with a view to getting involved with our festival, they had a great reputation for award-winning ales. Little did I realise that within minutes they would be offering us our own customised beer. That was an offer I could never refuse. Within hours we also had The Forum and Old House lined up as venues to stock the beer. It’s been a really heartening experience to see how much people have supported us - the first year of any festival is inevitably a tough one but many local companies have stepped in to help us out without a second thought."
