Sneak Preview
We’re pleased to present the very first screening of a new feature film by Sheffield film company Slackjaw, a throwback to classic children’s adventure films but harnessing a modern aesthetic.
Without wanting to give away too much of the story away, be prepared for an emotional journey into what it means to be siblings, a tale that includes donkeys, trains and some of the best landscapes northern England has to offer.
Join many of the cast and crew for what will be a truly special atmosphere – a celebration of the Yorkshire region, Whitby and Yorkshire culture.
The film stars Mark Addy, Tara Fitzgerald and recent BAFTA winner Molly Windsor.
- This special screening is in support of Sheffield charity BUZZ which helps to enrich the lives of vulnerable and isolated children.

Come along to this chat which will take inspiration from the photographs in the exhibition to discuss Barbara’s work and the wider Sheffield scene then and now.
Barbara clearly captured a snapshot in Sheffield’s music ‘scene’ but what is the scene looking like now – can Sheffield still be considered a music city?
How has the landscape changed from when Barbara was capturing the city through her lens and what is the impact now of the social changes she documented then?
Our talk will feature DJ and producer Winston Hazel, Creative coach and consultant Auriel Majumdar and actress Julie Stewart (subject to Julie being in the country).
GUEST BIOGS:

Saturday 29 September Doors 8.30pm
Jlin appeared first on Planet Mu’s second volume of “Bangs & Works” compilation, which had a huge impact on electronic/club music, bringing footwork to a wider audience. A protégée of RP Boo, Jlin hails from Gary, Indiana, a place close yet distant enough from Chicago to allow her to develop a different perspective on the genre. Her recent album “Black Origami” was one of the most critically lauded albums in recent years. This September the prolific producer will squeeze in her first live date in Sheffield, flying into the country just before premiering “Autobiography,” the score for her collaboration with choreographer Wayne McGregor. Audiences can witness a stark, startling performance from Jlin, forging the future of electronic music with her original experimental sounds.
Support comes from our ‘Beats Working Award’ overall winner ‘The Curious Machine’ who will perform at Sensoria under his new project name jme.osc.
