That Long Moonless Chase /  その長い月のない追跡 (30 mins)

In a mash-up of sinister folk-horror and fantastical mythical imagery, animator Noriko Okaku (JP/UK), musician Helen Papaioannou (UK)  and sound designer Başar Ünder (TK) bring an audio-visual performance  based on  folkloric legends from Sheffield (the Gabriel Hounds) and Kyoto (water-weeping ginkgo tree). The tales are exchanged by the looping of the Japanese and English texts, warping the legends into a bizarre and spectacular new mythology.

DAUD / दौड़ (Race) by Nihar Palwe with Original Music by Adith Anande (10 mins)

Combining Live Action and Animation, Nihar Palwe along with musician & composer Adith Anande, animator Arindam Kishore Dutta & sound designer Pranav Shukla, brings together this Hybrid Visual experience.

This short film follows the story of a young boy.

His earliest memory is of his father rising in the waking hours of every day, to scale the heights of an impossible mountain. Every day, his father would run – and he would run with him. The only day he decided not to go, was the last day he ever saw him.

With the memory of his hero still vivid in his mind, the boy sets out to finish what his father started. Every day is an exploit as he tries to conquer his fear, in this experimental live-action/animation short.

The music blends modern elements inspired by hip hop and modular synths with tribal sound to provide an electrifying experience.

Laura and Rob Skeet will provide live woodwind additions to complement the electronic soundtrack at the premiere screening of the film.
