We’re pleased to welcome Jim Ghedi to SensoriaPro for an in-conversation.
Jim Ghedi hails from Sheffield, and although clearly well versed in the history of folk music, he stands out as a torch bearer for a new generation of respectful yet experimental performers.
This year, Ghedi created his first film score, The Death of Robin Hood, after being approached by director Michael Sarnoski. A dark adaptation of the 17th-century folk-tale Robin Hood’s Death. The film, released September 2026 in the UK, stars Hugh Jackman, Jodie Comer and more. Jim will talk about how he approached composing the score and involving a creative community of musicians in Sheffield.
Over the years, Ghedi has performed headline tours and festivals across the UK, Ireland and Europe, as well as supporting and touring with bands such as Lankum, Stick in the Wheel, Richard Dawson and Shirley Collins. His album ‘Wasteland’, released last spring, saw wide acclaim and was recognised as a profoundly bold sonic statement that is some of the most rich, far-reaching and ambitious work in the Folk genre.
Presented in association with PRS for Music.

Ready to put your music to picture? Our ever-popular Scoring Contest returns, challenging composers to create an original score for the gripping trailer of Sirāt, courtesy of MUBI.
Directed by Óliver Laxe and co-written with Santiago Fillol, Sirāt is a tense, atmospheric road movie following a father (Sergi López) searching for his missing daughter across the deserts of southern Morocco, alongside his son and a group of ravers.
A panel of industry experts will shortlist the entries, discuss them live with the composers at the event, and then both the panel and audience will vote for the worthy winners. Panelists include Siân Rogers (Siren), Emmy-winning composer Nainita Desai and Ian Neil (Music Supervisor and Film producer).
Assets and brief sent to delegates upon registration.
